Why I support Ron Paul

I love Ron Paul, I really do. Until now, politics have always seemed to be useless. The politicians were greedy, bought out puppets for the corporations that own this country. But Ron Paul is different. Yes, he is old. However, being in his late 70’s shows he’s not in this for the money or power. And trust me, I don’t support all of his views (such as his disapproval of pro-choice), but it is impossible to have a candidate meet all your specific views. From my point of view, Ron Paul seems to be a very truthful candidate. Although many of his ideas receive disapproval from people, he still fights for what he believes in and I respect that. And due to his courage to stand up against the Federal Reserve and Big Business, he does not receive anywhere close to as much support/money the other candidates receive and is constantly ignored throughout the media. I would personally rather have a president that respects and values my civil liberties rather than the dishonorable, smooth-talking puppets we’ve had over the past several decades. Here are some reasons why I support Ron Paul and what he stands for:

- Plans to shut down the Federal Reserve

- Anti-war

- Lower spending and smaller government

- Lower taxes

- Gay rights

- Has never supported No Child Left Behind

- Lower healthcare costs

- Withdrawal of troops from all over the world

- Against the NDAA

- Wants to close military bases in other countries

- States’ rights

- Social Security (cut down on spending to help the people who depend on it and believes people should have the choice to pay Social Security taxes)

- Voted against the Iraq War, the Patriot Act, and internet regulation

- Values individual rights

- Wants to improve foreign relations

- End the failed War on Drugs

- Refuses to accept a federal pension

- His donations come primarily from individuals, not from groups/corporations. His top three contributors are the US army, navy, and airforce.

- A doctor of 40 years

- Military flight surgeon for over 5 years

- Consistent positions for years

- Wants to get rid of the Department of Education, giving the states and parents back control

- Never voted for a tax increase or congressional pay raise

- Was and is against Wall Street bail outs

Why do you support Ron Paul? If not Ron Paul, who do you support and why?
